The journey in brief

The whole kingdom, capital to coast to Angkor

Grand Cambodia shows the side of the country that most itineraries miss. It starts in Phnom Penh, the riverside capital, with its wide boulevards and royal history. Then it heads south to Kampot for pepper plantations that supply top kitchens around the world, and a slow cruise on the Kampot River. A day on the Kep coast brings the famous Crab Market and a quiet beach. The road then turns inland to Battambang for the bamboo train and the working villages around it.

The trip ends with four full nights in Siem Reap. Your clients see Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm on one day. The next day brings the pink sandstone carvings of Banteay Srei and a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake. A free day for markets and boutiques follows. The whole trip is overland and private, and you can change and rebrand every hotel and inclusion.

It suits culture-focused FIT travellers and repeat visitors who want more than the usual Phnom Penh and Siem Reap pairing. Kampot and Kep on the southern coast, and the Battambang countryside, add slower and less-visited stops to the famous temples.

Cambodia Classic (5 days) and Cambodia Highlights (6 days) both run from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Grand Cambodia is the longer country tour. It adds the Kampot pepper plantations and river, the Kep crab market and coast, and Battambang’s bamboo train and villages. It also gives Siem Reap four nights instead of two.

It is fully overland by private air-conditioned vehicle. This is what makes the southern coast and Battambang possible. The drives are part of the trip, not wasted time, as they pass pepper farms, salt flats and rice fields.

Yes. You can change every hotel, activity and night, and the itinerary is fully white-label. Popular changes include adding Sihanoukville or Koh Rong after Kep, cutting one Siem Reap night, or adding a homestay to the Tonle Sap visit.

November to March is the dry, cooler season and the easiest time for the long drives. April and May are hot. The June to October green season brings afternoon rain, but far fewer crowds at Angkor and green countryside around Battambang.
